Platform - Animal Advocacy
Shlanda Breeden created Canines for Cancer after her beloved bullmastiff, Dutch, was diagnosed with cancer. This personal experience drove her to help other pet owners facing the high costs of veterinary care. Through her initiative, Shlanda provides vital financial information and resources to pet owners, helping them navigate the expenses associated with their pets' medical needs. Partnering with organizations such as The Canine for Cancer Association (www.wearethecure.org) and Miranda’s People (www.mirandaspeople.org), Shlanda educates dog owners on early cancer detection and offers financial assistance for pet cancer treatments. Her platform is centered around preventing the heartbreaking decision to euthanize pets due to unaffordable medical costs. Beyond her advocacy work, Shlanda is a multifaceted titleholder. She serves as an accounting officer for the State of California and owns a pet party business called Kit Kat Poochie Parties. She is also a proud pet parent to four dogs: two pit bulls, Capone and Little Girl, and two chihuahuas, Little Boy and Peanut. Shlanda’s commitment to service has earned her the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award, the highest honor in the pageant industry, as well as accolades for her acting and artistic talents.
